Partnership Pitch (Short, Direct)
For proposing a specific collaboration to a peer company or complementary business.
Template
Subject: [Your company] + [their company]? Hi [name], Noticed [specific, verifiable detail about their business — a product, a post, a recent launch]. [One sentence connecting it to what you do.] I think there's a straightforward fit: [the specific partnership idea, stated in one sentence — not "let's explore synergies"]. Worth a 15-minute call [this/next] week to see if it makes sense? [Your name]
When to use it
Best for B2B outreach where the ask is small and concrete — one clear proposal, one clear next step, no lead-up.
Filled-in example
A fictional packaging supplier pitching a small accessories brand.
Subject: Northway + Linen & Lane? Hi Maya, Noticed your new linen tote line sold out in its first week — congrats. We make printed cotton dust bags for small accessories brands. I think there's a straightforward fit: branded dust bags for the tote restock, at a 500-unit minimum. Worth a 15-minute call next week to see if it makes sense? Sam
How to customise it
- 1.Replace the observation with something you genuinely saw in the last few weeks.
- 2.Make the partnership idea specific enough that they can picture it immediately.
- 3.If a call feels like a big ask, offer something smaller — samples, a mock-up, a one-page overview.
- 4.Keep the whole email under about 125 words.
Mistakes to avoid
- ✕Generic flattery (“love what you’re doing!”) instead of a specific detail.
- ✕Vague proposals like “explore synergies” that give them nothing to say yes to.
- ✕Long introductions about your company history.
- ✕Forgetting to plan follow-ups — most replies come after the first email.
