Shopify Description Generator
DTC-style paragraph copy for your own storefront — brand voice first, spec sheet second.
Your own store is a different kind of page
On a marketplace, shoppers compare you against ten other listings. On your own Shopify store, the visitor already chose you — often from an ad, a social post, or a search for your brand. That gives you room to sound like yourself. Shopify product pages can open with a short brand-voice paragraph that tells people who the product is for and why you made it, followed by the specifics they need to buy.
What a strong Shopify product page includes
- An opening paragraph in your brand voice: who it's for, the problem it solves, the feeling of using it.
- Scannable specifics: materials, dimensions, care, what's in the box — as a short list.
- Answers to objections: sizing guidance, shipping and returns, compatibility.
- An SEO title and meta description: set in the "Search engine listing" section of the product in Shopify admin. Search results typically show around 50–60 characters of title and around 150–160 characters of description.
What this generator does for Shopify
With the marketplace set to Shopify, the generator writes brand-voice paragraph copy rather than marketplace-style bullets, and also returns key benefits, a features list, an SEO title, a meta description, and suggested keywords. Add your brand voice (three or four words, such as "warm, minimal, a little wry") under "More details" for copy that sounds like your store.
Avoid duplicate content across your store
If you sell many similar products — the same shirt in ten colours, for example — avoid pasting identical descriptions on separate product pages. Use variants on a single product where you can, and write a distinct opening line for products that genuinely differ. Unique product pages are better for shoppers and for search.
Don't copy manufacturer descriptions
If you resell products, the manufacturer's description is probably on dozens of other sites. Rewriting it in your own words, with your own perspective on who it suits, gives search engines and shoppers a reason to choose your page.
Before you publish
- Check every fact against the product.
- Read the page on a phone.
- Make sure the meta description reads like an invitation, not a list of keywords.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I paste the SEO title and meta description in Shopify?
Open the product in Shopify admin and scroll to the “Search engine listing” section. Edit it to set the page title and meta description separately from the product title and description.
Can it write in my brand’s voice?
Yes. Describe your voice in three or four words under “More details”, and include anything distinctive about how you talk to customers. The more specific the description, the closer the result.
Should my Shopify description be the same as my Amazon listing?
Usually not. Amazon favours keyword-forward titles and bullets for comparison shoppers; your own store can tell a story. Generate a separate version for each.
